How sweet is my baby?

Thursday mornings I go to a Bible study group called Mom to Mom. Baby always does a great job in the nursery, and Maria, Jo, and Ann are wonderful childcare workers. When we walked in today all of the babies were engaged in one way or the other, and Maria took Erik in her lap. We always get stellar reports about how wonderful and easy he is.

Then I went to lunch with a friend, and got back home about 2:15. We had been out all day.

He woke up from a nap at 3:45 (I could have used an extra 15 minutes!), and I put him in his jumper/exersaucer. I stayed in the room with him, and he kept turning to me and pouting, saying, "Mbuh, mbuh," and spitting. I would say, "Hi," in a cheery voice, with a goofy grin, and hope that he would be happier in there by himself. It was a no-go. I could tell he wanted me, and wanted to be held, so I picked him up.

Within minutes he was giggling, laughing, and smiling, and he has been kicking and waving his arms under his mobile for about 20 minutes while I type.

Isn't he the sweetest? It's true love.

Chompers!

We have toothage! For weeks now I have thought that Mr. Baby was teething. He's soaked through several outfits each day with drool, lost his appetite, had red cheeks, was pulling on his ears, etc. Yesterday I thought I saw something white in there, and today I can feel the baby tooth. He seems shy about it, because when I try to open his mouth to look he puts his tongue out, but it is definitely there. It is on his bottom right.

Wait 'til Kelly hears this.

(This is an older picture, but I knew I might not be forgiven if I didn't include a picture.)
